Lovely seafood spot in a great easy to find location. We were a large party and were seated quickly in a private room. The seafood bake was a good value (plenty of food) and was served hot and fresh. The server was really nice and helpful. It was a little slow getting dessert but it was worth the wait.
I went to The Boathouse when they first opened and I was not terribly impressed. This weekend I was in the area and decided to give them another chance and couldn't be happier that I did. The Geisha roll appetizer was delicious and very flavorful. The seared scallops over pappardelle vodka cream pasta was perfect. The scallops we're seasoned and cooked perfectly. I finished the night with a tasty creme brulee. The waiter was quick with responding and very knowledgeable of the menu. I will certainly be back and be sure to recommend to friends and family.
The food was excellent. I had calamari as an appetizer and it was well cooked, not rubbery, and a good mix of rings and tentacles. I had the swordfish special as an entree. It is the first time I've had that and really enjoyed it. Was seasoned on the spicy side which I enjoyed. For dessert I took the blackout chocolate cake to go. Was very good but also very dense. Could have definitely used a glass of milk with it.
My husband, daughter and I had a lovely brunch at Boathouse all thanks to TIM! His service was outstanding. He seriously needs to teach a class for wait staff. My water never was half, he came by each time we got food to do a "quality check" , when he would walk by he would ask if we needed anything else. Tim also took time to share his menu recommendations. Overall, we felt like we were his only table. As new parents, it was nice to be taken care of :)
Very delicious and classy restaurant. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a few drinks, before starting with the Hush Puppies as an app, and then ordering the Southern Fried Seafood. Service was very satisfying with light conversation and dinner was great with the IPA beverage on draft. It was recommended to try this place by a local co-worker and I was glad I took them up on it. It's in the Mall area and I went on a Friday night around 8ish, which wasn't too busy or packed. Would love to make another visit if every in the city again. If you like seafood, you can't go wrong with this place.
