Southern Inn Restaurant

I actually did not eat here!!! If it's Wednesday during the summer, the parking lot behind the Southern Inn is turned into the Lexington Farmers Market.‼️ The vendors gather to sell their wares. Fruit, veggies, breads, plants, jams jellies, fresh berries, meats and almost anything you can imagine is for sale that grows or is baked or farmed. The prices are a bit high, but you can't beat the freshness, the selection or the friendliness of the vendors. Parking is on street and in designated City lots. There's no charge, but it can get crowded. Beware! A lot of the parking is restricted to local businesses. Watch for signs.

Traveling from Charleston WV to Richmond, VA and this restaurant got really good reviews so we decided to check out. All i can say is WOW! the reviews were right this was terrific. Hubby and I started with a daily special appetizer of ash goat cheese ( it sounds a little strange but was delicious) we ordered the duck breast dinner to share and not only was the food great but they did a truly professional job of splitting it on two plates. Creme brulee for dessert, again yum! Service was also top notch.

We were driving through Lexington on our way home and spotted this place to eat. We were seated quickly and our waitress was also quick with getting our orders. I ordered an Italian Cream Soda (strawberry), which cost $4 and the meatloaf meal, which was $10. Everything was delicious and the portion size was perfect in my opinion. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

Good service, great table, fantastic food. Excellent value for wonderfully plated and planned entrees. 10/10 would recommend!
The rooms would benefit from acoustic absorption as it did get a bit loud.
