“On January 3, for his last meal in Virginia before returning to Florida, I took my adult son to Social House for lunch. He'd wanted to go there for the past year or so during visits here but we'd never managed to get there. On this visit, we finally did go. I certainly don't want to disparage a local business, and I'm sure there were many satisfied customers that day. Indeed, there was a very large party (12 or so) seated at a long table near us, so perhaps that affected our service negatively; nonetheless, our appetizer was very late in appearing (15-20 minutes) and we had to inquire twice about it. Finally the hostess brought it. We finished the appetizer and waited again, 30 minutes--we noticed the time-from when we finished the appetizer until our server returned to tell us that regretfully our order had been "lost." So, he took our order again and resubmitted it. He did apologize a lot, and we were understanding, didn't complain at all, were very polite, and left him a more than adequate tip in the end. The management did comp our appetizer which was very nice, and much appreciated; however, money was not the issue, time was. I'm sure this was an anomalous event and not the usual kind of service that one would expect at Social House. It's just that it was the first time either I (a resident of South Riding) or my son had ever been there, so we were disappointed. It was not a particularly pleasant lunch which, to make this very long story short, is why I rated it 3 stars. Had you not asked, I wouldn't have said anything because truly, I don't like to criticize local restaurants. You have enough problems as it is, so please don't think I'm trying to harm your business. I wish you much success in the future.”

“Update - just there today pizza still amazing only thing better is how nice the owners are!! Absolutely love their pizza and the Thai wings are excellent. To make matters worse the owners are the nicest people EVER!!! My wife had her hands full with 3 kids and they carried the pizzas out to the car for her. “Great service! We were a group of six. Our waitress was good, and a gentleman helping out (I wish I had gotten his name - had a cool hat) was awesome. Drinks were always filled. The appetizers at the V are great. Must get the pork pops and ahi nachos. I had the Cuban this time, and it was pretty good. My only complaint is after having steak twice, it's not that great. The seafood, however, is definitely good. Great place to have a good time.”

“Yen's Kitchen is one of our go-to places for lunch at work. The food is consistently good and the little things that they do show that they care about their food and the customers. When we order fried food, sesame fish or eggplant which are my favorites, they will leave the lid off of the container and put it in a paper bag with the top open to let the steam escape. This makes it super crispy even when we are not dining in. Also, I can always tell the food was fried in clean oil because the batter is beautiful light yellow color. The co-workers also love the sushi from here as well. Thank you for actually caring about the food you serve, Yen's Kitchen!”

“Just came to this restaurant for dinner for something new and we were pleasantly surprised at everything! From when you walk in, the wait staff is incredibly kind and attentive. “Fairly easy to find. Staff is super friendly and attentive. They will try to answer any questions. You can mix and match ur meal easily. The roasted chicken is OK. However, the fried chicken, especially fresh cooked is really moist and tasty. The sides r just OK. Did like the plantains. It's set up buffet style. I always ask for fresh chicken. The price is excellent.”

The service was good; used plates didn't last long on the table, but there were only a few tables seated before the full lunch rush. “Just simply fabulous. I used Wes and their chef services to prepare a private (in my home) gourmet meal for my wife's birthday. They were very helpful, walking me through the different course selections and the wine pairings. They literally bring in EVERYTHING, flatware, china, wine glasses etc... Wes comes to your home, prepares all the courses, educates you on the wine, the food you're eating, how it was prepared, it was just flat out fun!! If you have never done this, you should try it out. Its a great birthday present for that special someone or event.”

“Flew in to Baltimore early and had about an hour to kill before I left the airport. Grabbed a B.E.L.T sandwich. Basic stuff- just bacon, fried egg, lettuce, and tomatoes on a large English muffin. But boy was it good. Cooked fresh when ordered, and was exactly what I was in the mood for. And the staff was friendly, helpful, and fast. I’ll be back when I fly out.”
