Champion Ice House

I grew up in Georgia and I know good fried chicken when I taste it ...I also know how rare it is these days to find authentic fried chicken in a restaurant setting..... Flavor, texture, and temperature are all critical, and I cannot remember the last time I had a chicken breast that was not desert cactus dry in the center.... so expectations were high when we walked into Champion Ice House last week .....and I am here to tell the world, they did not disappoint!!! This is the real deal and the team has done a fantastic job delivering a great menu here.... Anything on the menu that references fried chicken is a winner .....every piece, breast included, was perfectly cooked and juicy....this is jawdroppingly (is that even a word) good chicken....chicken that will curl your toes and have you nodding your head at every bite....other favorites were the ham biscuits, chocolate pie......and of course the cold beer and friendly staff. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

This is THE destination to try in Gordonsville! The fired chicken is so spectacular! It's one of those flavors that you just can't get enough of, you crave and come running back for more! Great outdoor space that is fun for all especially with an ice cold beer! Hats off to this crew!

Complementing the fried chicken was great succotash and grits for the full southern experience. Reasonably priced and well served too.

I love this place! Great venue and the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. If you’re not in Gordonsville, it’s well worth the drive ... such a fun place to spend an afternoon or evening. Also, love the kids menu ($6.50 for entree, apples, a side, and drink!)

There are not enough stars to rate Chef Hartman’s fried chicken. Gordon’s Lite Lager by Champion was perfect to wash it down. The atmosphere and friendly service put it over the top.
