Anchor Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar

Great place. The food is awesome and the owners and wait staff are delightful. We enjoy the bar area the best. A great neighborhood , non chain resturant and it's local!

This was my first visit here and I have mixed feelings. We came for lunch and we were the first ones there. The waitress was prompt and friendly and it didn't take very long for a food to get there. But as the restaurant fillefd the service slowed down and I saw two couples leave without being served. I ordered fish tacos and french fries. The fish tacos were okay although the fish was a little overdone and the cheese have been added and was melted already. I prefer to be able to add cheese lettuce and tomato separately after it's served. They also didn't have the option of fried fish, only broiled or blackened. While the french fries were very good there weren't many. Most restaurants serve you more fries and you can eat. My friend ordered the shrimp and chicken and she said it was very good. I tried one of her hush puppies and they are gold standard for me in a restaurant. The ones here were not that good. The other issue was the decor which was minimal at best. And the booth seats were much too low and not geared towards being able to comfortably reach your food. Overall I'm not sure I will be coming back.

Reuben was not a good choice. There was not enough of anything in it. For $9 it should have been a great deli sandwich. If they are going to offer it, it should stand up to comparison, not just an after thought. My friend ordered a ham and cheese. It also was lacking.
