Chicanos Cocina Bar & Grill

In town for business and was looking for somewhere close to the Marriott Delta. This is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Since moving from Texas, I haven't had any good Mexican Food in a couple of years. Chicanos Cocina was amazing. In fact I came back two nights in a row. Great food, great service and great prices. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Only got to try the burritos and enchiladas, both were exceptional. Their chips and salsa were also great. Wish there was a location like this back home. Keep up the good work.

Came to unwind with a margarita and some food after a particularly stressing day at a conference. The drink and food were great, but the people even better. They told me great places to see in Richmond, we chatted about books, life in general. The bartender, in particular, was super friendly and welcoming. I'm glad I had the chance to meet these folks before I head back to Chicago.

Came into Richmond for a conference and showed up unannounced with a group of 20 people. We were seated promptly and received excellent service through the evening. The margaritas are excellent!! I will definitely come back next time I am in Richmond.

This place is great but everyone already knows that so if you're going there for lunch you need to get in either before or after the lunch crowd as there's always a line at the door during lunch. The food is selection is as expected and they are super fast getting it out to you. Will keep going back.

Visited for the first time last Friday night and was amazed at the quality of this very nondescript gem of a restaurant!

Staff—super friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Even made suggestions based on our individual tastes that we gave her.

Ambiance: decor was subdued; no tacky decor. You would never assume it is a Mexican restaurant based on the interior. Only negative is the booths are extremely uncomfortable if you have any back issues. The pads don got all the way down to the seat pad....which gave me an instant backache.

Food: Amazing. Best I’ve had in the states. I had grilled chicken with scallops and veggies. The scallops were delish! Almost a hint of mango in the sauce (sweet and a tiny bit spicy). My bro had the whole grilled fish which was perfect. Margaritas were great and had an amazing hint of sweetness.

So glad we found this place; we will definitely be back!
