I've been there twice now. First time, the food was amazing. The 2nd time, food was average. Maybe the chef was having an off day or they had a new chef. I wasn't impressed with the service either time.

Excellent food choices. Light sauces full of flavor, not overwhelmed by the heat. Highly recommend this place.

I met with family at the restaurant for my first visit. I really liked the decor and the quaint look and feel. The plating and food presentation was very cool and different from most of the Thai restaurants I’ve visited in the past. The food was good but not excellent. I would definitely give them another go.

My new Oasis in the middle of the city. I love the actual patio. It's very quiet. Kinda expensive but overall food pretty good and decent portions. Wait staff extra friendly

My husband and I are visiting Richmond and decided to try Patio Thai for the first time. We ate a late lunch/early dinner at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. we were the only customers. The service was good, and the restaurant was clean and inviting. My Thai iced tea was delicious. I got the green curry with chicken. The portion size was good, flavor was excellent, and the spice was perfect; enough to make your nose run, but not enough to make your eyes water. My husband got the spicy eggplant with chicken. Neither of us had ever tried that before. The black bean sauce was like a broth more than a sauce and had a very nice, mild, savory flavor. Although the spice was rated as 2 peppers, like my curry, and the word "spicy" was in the title of the dish, it was not spicy at all. The portion size was also quite small. I rate his dish a 3/5 and mine a 5/5, bringing the overall score to 4/5.
