K&W Cafeterias

I grew up eating here with my grandparents. It's one place have to visit every time I to Roanoke. I live in Florida, so that's saying something! Such a varied menu, everyone can find something they like.

Wow, loved it. Consistent quality and lots of friendly staff who are attentive. there are also lots of cute old people all over the place and it feels like a trip back in time to a simpler era wholesome simple food fresh fast flavorful!

A pretty good value. Have to pay for each item you get unless they have a special. This can add up. Geared toward older retired people. I was temporarily using a cane after major surgery and lady employee offered to take my tray to the table for me. Gave her extra tip. Fairly good crabcakes. Extra delicious tartar sauce. Too much rice filler in stuffed peppers. Nicely seasoned veggies.

For some reason the Mac and Cheese had a sweet taste to it. I had the turkey and dressing which sadly the turkey was dry and the dressing had a weird flavor. My rolls were soft on top and the bottoms were crunchy. The best part of my meal was my cherry cobbler.i will definitely go again. I'll just remember not to order certain things.
