Dayton Tavern

July 30, 2019 - Absolutely splendid. A small tower of Tavern Nachos well paired with a selected beverage, followed by the crab cake, broiled, with red potatoes and green beans. Superbly done. Presentation well done. Taste and texture excellent. Topped off with a slice of the coconut cream pie. Nice! All in a neighborhood tavern environment with an intimate atmosphere. Quality and price well balanced. Enjoyed soft Jazz & Blues from the group Duo Jazz playing a range from Herbie Hancock, Patsy Cline, Van Morrison, to blues standards like Kansas City. A friendly place where everybody can know your name. Hope to return soon.

By far the best restaurant anywhere near Harrisonburg. The staff and food are absolutely amazing! Rachel, Carly, and Emily are 3 of the best servers you could ever hope for! If you live anywhere near Dayton or are just visiting, this place is a MUST visit. Oh and to top it off, the owner makes sure to speak with everyone!

The steamed shrimp was good. I also had onion rings which were good. My two fellow diners had terrible experiences with their food. One friend ordered the crab soup and it was like glue and tasteless. The crab cake sandwich she ordered was also on appetizing. The Tavern has great atmosphere and they would do well to improve the menu and food prep.

What a wonderful gem! Food was fantastic, very reasonably priced, great atmosphere with thoughtfully volumed live music and THE BEST coconut cream pie I have ever had. The staff and owner are very attentive, and made us travelers from PA feel very welcomed!
