Massanutten Ski Lodge

Really impressed with the slopes this year. There's a trail for everyone and the terrain trails are amazing. I say this as Pacesetter was just added with terrain park. This depends on weather but the grooming and entire process with lifts have been smooth. BaseCamp bar is amazing and a really great idea right on the slopes. I will go there over encounters any day! I give 4 stars because sadly I've tried Encounters bar 3 times and I've never had a good time. It's always the security harassing us. They walk around looking for trouble. I was snowed in on the mtn a few weekends ago and were harassed to leave as we got there at 10pm. The band was god awful. Red something was the band. Literally the security told us we should just drive to 7-11 and go back to our condo and drink... I'm only on the mtn because it's 1ft of snow outside and we literally just walked in and yall have a band with maybe 10 people here.

If you ask to speak to the manager, you'll be escorted around the side of the bar to the manager sitting in a bar chair like its Sopranos.

We went to Encounters Lounge to watch skiiers and enjoy drinks/dinner. The place was filthy and the service was spotty. The food quality was sub par and the prices were high. Don't get a burger. A positive for us, it was loud. We have little kids so their noise didn't matter .

Pretty great when the snow's good. Top of the blue gets a bit icy late in the day but mornings are great. Almost all the employees are friendly and helpful. Wes, bartender at the outside bar, is super awesome. Had several great waitresses (I'm so sorry I don't remember your names!!) at the restaurants inside. I only have one complaint about an employee, someone working at a ski lift for one of the greens called out to one of my friends who was leaning against the little gate (the one right before getting on the lift), "Hey! You! Get your back foot on your board." My friend listened, somewhat surprised by the comment. After the gate opened and he slid onto the conveyor belt thing, the worker called out, "See? Wasn't that easy?!" I was so taken aback. Between friends, that sarcastic comment might have been funny, but not coming from an employee

I had a great time here. Ice skating was hard but I would do it again. Tubing was awesome! We did the escape room and got out alive! Can't wait to come back!
