The staff was friendly. Farm to table was sweet. I had Kale salad and mussels. The salad dressing was not to my taste. I like sitting in the window seat and watch people.
This was the best overall meal and dining experience we've had in our hometown in YEARS. Food and service were superb. I'm not a dessert person, but the lemon Panna Cotta with fresh fruit was absolute perfection after my gnocchi. We'll be making a point to return more often to get a chance to sample the seasonal menu changes!!
Fantastic restaurant! Farm to table with everything fresh and delicious. We had a four course "Chef's Tasting Menu" which was superbly prepared with exceptional presentation and most importantly every bite delicious. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and we'll decorated. The Service was exceptional, thank you Gretchen. Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed.
Nice restaurant; overall good but nothing incredible.
Strawberry and beet salad had good flavor, but very few of either.
The pork shoulder was a bit over cooked and dry; the greens that came with it were really good though and I believe it was polenta underneath.
Really nice staff and good selection of drinks.
Would try it again but order something different.
The ambiance of the restaurant delivers an upscale feel to your dining experience in the quaint small town of Staunton. It's a beautifully decorated place with unique lighting. The place was full on a Saturday evening but we had reservations. Our entrees and sides were obviously prepared with love because they tasted delicious and it took quite some time to get to our table. Our server said a 30 minute wait for food was normal on a Saturday evening. Our sides were asparagus, sweet potatoes and grits. The asparagus were plump and well seasoned. The sweet potato mash was creamy. The pimento cheesy grits set the bar pretty high for my next grits adventure. Our entrees included trout and scallops. Seafood heaven! The kohlrabi, it's a veggie, sauce gave the trout an explosion of flavor. The scallops and kale paired excellent with a potato onion puree. They were also both cooked to perfection. On the negative side the portions were quite small.
