I came in town to pay my respect to the family’s resting place and needed a place to eat. This place came highly recommended and I can see why. While I didn’t have the time to sit down to eat, everyone was very friendly, charismatic, and seemed to enjoy being there. They didn’t have a “dinner” menu but rather just the sandwiches / salads / drinks when I went. I got the cowabunga sandwich and the potato salad. Both good choices. Next time I’m going to opt for a salad because only thing I want to do after that meal is sleep! The atmosphere was quite cozy as well and they even have some locally made products on display.
Found this gem when my friend and I came into town to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail. Excellent service, excellent food! We ate there twice and agreed it was the best in town! If you love potato salad, theirs is the best. Pub Burger super tasty, also had the Cowabunga as a salad rather than sandwich and it had crazy amount of veggies.
Nice atmosphere and great service. Shrimp and grits were delicious! Coffee and Creme Brûlée were good as well!
Have dined here for lunch and twice for dinner. Quality of food is absolutely superb, the chef is a culinary genius. Hope he doesn’t move to a big city. Wait staff are also fantastic. This place may soon have a line down the street so you best go now before word gets out!!!
The photos are my meal with a close-up of the sweet cinnamon butter that makes the stuff at Texas Roadhouse taste like a joke.
This place is an 11/10 - they're still working on getting beer in as I think they're relatively new. Everything I consumed made me think, "Wow."
The Bruschetta: Fresh, perfect balance of vinegarette, crispy bread, mozzarella pearls split in half. It was amazing, and I could see this being even better if I was out on the patio.
The Chopped Salad: sounds weird reviewing a chopped side salad but usually, when I've ordered them anywhere else in the past, they're premade, wilted, mass produced bowls of bagged lettuce that are queued up in a fridge (but also... if they are, I couldn't tell!). This side salad was fresh and had fresh vegetables in them! Not just a mix from a bag. Red pepper, tomato, cucumber, pumpkin seeds?! It was really good and I appreciate the FRESH extra goods put in it.
The 10oz Pork Chop and Garlic Potatoes: simply delicious. I feel like I'm at a gourmet restaurant. The flavor combo is so perfect. The mashed taters are real, not too garlicy, and just right.
