I highly, highly recommend that you visit the Wicked Chicken. The food is great and the space is cute and comfortable, but the reason the Wicked Chicken blows every other restaurant out of the water is their service, or more specifically, Amanda.

My mom, sister, and I stopped at Wicked Chicken at the end of a 5 day backpacking trip. They had everything we were dreaming about while backpacking – beer, big salads, and ice cream – and they were all delicious! While we were eating, our waitress, Amanda, came by and warned us that it was about to start raining so that we could rescue our backpacks, which were sitting outside. Sure enough, it did start raining. While we were trying to decide whether we should wait out the storm or just get soaked walking across town to our hostel, Amanda came by again and offered us a ride! Amanda’s husband happened to be there eating lunch, and he offered to drive us to the hostel so that we could avoid a soggy hike. Amanda and her husband saved both our packs and ourselves from getting drenched. We were so grateful for their kindness and generosity!

Service was great, atmosphere was nice. Food could have been better for the prices. It had good flavor, but was just fast grill type food.

We ate here after the Virginia creeper trail. One of the kids got chicken tenders, I got a club sandwich, and everyone else got burgers. The staff was great. My husband's chain on his bike broke while coming down the trail and our waitress went out of her way to find someone to drive him back up to the top. The food was great (the kids loved our curly fries served with the adult meals better than the ones served with the kids meals). On our three day long vacation, the kids ranked the "Wicked Chicken" in their top three, which is pretty impressive considering that we did the Virginia creeper trail, Grayson Highlands state park, and camped at Grindstone.

I really enjoyed having dinner here with my son. I got the Cuban and it was amazing, the curly fries were really good and didn'tlast long on the table. Our server was very attentive and super helpful when my 2 yo made a special request for chocolate milk. The old house turned restaurant creates the perfect atmosphere for this small town Tavern. I hope to return soon.
