Tried their fried chicken dinner. It was pretty good. I could tell the chicken had been sitting around for a while because it was brought out within 2 or 3 minutes of ordering and wasn't fresh-out-the-pan hot; also, the write-up said it would come with honey for drizzling...it didn't. Thankfully the chicken didn't need it as it had a well-seasoned crispy coating and was truly delicious. I ordered mashed potatoes (very disappointed they didn't come with gravy) and steamed broccoli (this was fabulous) as my sides. Also had the cornbread muffins and those were AMAZING - fresh and not the sweet-cakey variety.
Quick Service, good food. The one thing that I liked it is the Country Store isn't crowded. Normally it's a maze to get to the restaurant. This location is well planned and stocked.
The food is tasty but it's a chain so that's not a valid basis for the review.
This restaurant is great at off peak times. When I went for lunch around 4:00 there were very few occupied tables so I didn't have to wait long for my food to arrive.
When I went on a Friday for dinner around 7:15 I had a very different experience. It was packed, so it took an hour between the time we sat down and the time our food arrived. There were numerous mistakes with our order and even though the staff was apologetic overall it just took too long.
I would return at an off-peak time, but if the parking lot is full try somewhere else.
Overall great location. While on vacation my family always choose to eat in at cracker barrel for breakfast or dinner. Great service and food. The only reason for not a complete 5 star was that we waited awhile for food preparation, a little longer than usual. We went for dinner around 8pm and wasn't as busy and thought they were preparing to close then instead of 11pm. Overall breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, you cant go wrong with Cracker Barrel!!!!
The food was delicious. My pancakes were perfect. Chrissy served us. She kept drinks full and make sure we were satisfied. In the cracker barrel store, i saw some really cute sandals. Food in Virginia always taste better than here
