Comparitively authentic Indian food at a great price. Good spot for lunch.

Delicious comfort food, good price. Get the goat curry. Don't need to order ahead, just show up and take the food to go. Read on for the story.

So I had a rough week and I really needed someone else to cook me food. I took to the search engines and found Curry Point. Sure, I'll try it. Called them to place an order and they said yes, they had that food, come in and get it. Okay.... So I went. I did read all these 1 and 2 star reviews so I was nervous, but, hey, there are 4 and 5 star reviews here too.

I go in and the place has three patrons in it. Uh oh. But then as I stand there waiting for my order, a new person comes in for food every 2 minutes. That tells a different story. People want the food, they just take it home with them. And I was about to learn why.

I ordered 32 oz, 16oz each of goat and chicken curry. Boring, I know, but I wanted comfort food, not a culinary experience. And that's just what I got.

I drove home, put the curries over some rice, and, wow. Comfort was the exact word for it. It was delicious, sure, but there was something more to it. It was so warming, so filling, so... comforting. Sitting at home, in my own space, eating this food - I felt warm and safe.

The goat curry had sizable chunks of meat, few bones, and and an enveloping evenness in the rest of the sauce. The chicken curry had even larger chunks of meat. The chicken didn't use a creamy base which surprised me, but then, I've had a lot of coconut cream curries recently.

Bottom line: This place is worth the money. It'll provide you a comforting experience if you let it. If you want a high brow experience you're going to have to go elsewhere - but that's not what this is about. This is fast, counter-serve food ready and simmering for those rainy Seattle days when you just need something warm in the comfort of your own home. Think of it like those 1950s rail car diners. No, you're not going to those for their filet mignon - but when you need some good fried chicken there's nowhere better.

My recommendation: Get the Goat curry, take it home, and kick back, and relax.

Yesterday was our first time we went to this place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the good service, with the fine food and wine and with the decent price. We will surely come back in a short time.
