Personal pizza was very good, eating the gourmet pizza a few miles away wasn't as good but still good.

Ok, so before I begin, let me start by acknowledging that this is objectively good pizza. If you don't like Garlic Jim's, then you may just not like pizza and should probably pursue other food options from here on out.

No, this isn't Serious Pie. If you are ordering delivery from a chain and expect that level of pizza then I implore you to consider that the NyQuil dosage directions are not, in fact, soft recommendations. Garlic Jim's is significantly better than the other national pizza chains and I actually prefer it to the local chains as well, although the difference is smaller. My first non-farm job in high school was at a Garlic Jim's, so I know first-hand that the ingredients are quality and freshness standards are high. Given that it tastes the same today as it did then, I think that still holds true. Bottom-line, if you want a decent pizza that won't make you hate yourself for eating the leftovers tomorrow morning, then pay $5 more than you would for greasy cardboard and hit up a Garlic Jim's.

Now, because the Cubs just lost on a walk-off and I'm irritated, I'm going to respond to a couple of the comments below mine --

Leo, buddy, calm the hell down. Who knows what the situation was. Maybe the high-school kid you talked to was sick of dealing with customers who didn't believe that they actually didn't accept gift cards. Maybe he was having a bad day because his acne flared up and the cute girl dragging him along who he was about to ask to the prom is going with some meathead fullback who drives a brand new Tahoe and brags about being Republican instead and then just before you called this kid thought about his day and remembered that he works at a pizza place dealing with jack-wagons like you all day just so he can have enough money to buy alcohol for the other girls he could consider asking to prom so they think he's cool, even though he knows that they'll just go with someone who doesn't work at Garlic Jim's. Leaving a poor review, especially when there are so few others, based on one anecdotal experience, is mad whack yo.

Christian, I had to step away before writing this so I didn't say anything that would make my parents as ashamed of me as I'm sure yours are of you. Let's just pretend, for a moment, that rating a pizza place based solely on their delivery regions is something that psychologically healthy individuals do. If this were reasonable (it's not, but let's pretend like it is), what would the proper rating criteria be? You apparently believe that a pizza place should (1) deliver to your location if the distance between you and them is equal to or less than the distance you walk to work, because duh, and (2) have the same delivery region as the nearest Dominos. I actually don't know if I can do a better job of discrediting your review than you did by writing it, so I'll just stop.

    Go Cubs
