The North Shore Lagoon is a pretty fun bar in the McMenamins campus of bars and restaurants. It overlooks the pool, but isn't too warm and doesn't smell like chlorine at all. The food and the drinks were both very good and the service was good as well. We did end up having an enormous group of children sitting next to us, one of the hazards of eating right near a pool I suppose.
enjoyed the visit.
compared to the "Tavern", it was not the "typical" service you get from McMenamins (SLOW and inattentive).
I appreciated that the bar keep actually acknowledged us and kept checking in.
The establishment is dark, but comfortable.
It overlooks the pool, so if you want to drop off the ankle biters and numb your senses, this would be a good place to do it. :)
McMenamins is really just odd. I had my own expectations going in, and I was wrong. It's like a multi faceted bar. Check out the "Shack" for bourbons and whiskeys. Go to the "Lagoon" for other flavors. The food is good too, so don't forget to eat.
Fun decor and menu. I highly recommend getting Cajun tots if at any of the McMenamins restaurants. Food was good however I rated only 4 star as service seemed slow. It look quite a while for one in our group to just get a Coke.
So sadly when I went the pool area of the lagoon was closed. Their food is excellent, very attentive staff. This would be a great place to unwind after a long day of work. The cassian cauliflower was yummy. I was very impressed with the lighting and overall decor.
