Chile Pepper

The in house made salsa is to die for and goes really well with their margaritas. I also recommend the red snapper ceviche and chicken mole. I will continue to come back and support this business as I always feel like I'm being fed by family when I come here. Excellent service, and the man running it is always on top of it.

Their lentil soup is incredibly good. It's a little on the spicy side but it's such a flavorful spice that you don't want to miss it. Atmosphere is usually pretty quiet - this place doesn't really get busy except on warm summer nights when people stop by for margaritas. Their mole sauce tastes pretty great. The fish in red sauce was a bit underwhelming, but pretty flavorful.

Not-So-Hidden Gem in Wallingford. Great place for authentic Mexican food with full flavor. The atmosphere/ambiance isn't hoity toty, but neither are the prices. Would reccomend the red chili pork.

Good service, okay food, okay prices. All in all, Chile Pepper is probably not going to be a regular place for us. The tamles were a bit dry and bland for my liking, but I really enjoyed their rice and beans. My fiance ordered a quesadilla, but they were out of large ones and brought three (small) taco sized tortillas folded in half. It was a super small portion, but said they were really tasty.
