I was really happy to see something GOOD come from the old Pizza Hut tear down. Finding a quality food joint near that Morgan/35 intersection is a tough sell, and Matt from Grillbird does not disappoint. The husband and I went there and ordered the pork and the steak dishes. The teriyaki, out of this world, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Since they're new, you might have to wait 15 minutes for your food, but when it arrives, it's hot and fresh. There's seating and free tea while you wait.
Thanks Matt - keep up the good work!
The service was excellent, very friendly. I ordered the Chicken Katsu. The chicken was moist, the rice was done just right, one of the better ginger dressings I have ever had for the salad. The greens were crispy and delicious. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken and Pork. I gave it a try and wow. The chicken was done right with a whole lot of flavor and the pork was just as good. I really appreciated the complimentary tea and it isn't like the tea from other places. I like it because it is on the stronger side, and I really hope they don't change that. The order was correct, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent and that's why I gave them a 5. Once they fall into the groove after being open only a few weeks this place is going to be great.
The chicken teriyaki was fantastic! Great texture and flavor, plus yummy sauce on the side. The employees were nice and helpful. The menu had the gluten free options labeled which was refreshing (just make sure to ask for no mac on the side). The portion size was huge!
Hawaiian-inspired teriyaki with great attention to detail. The chicken was so moist and tender, unlike the overcooked, chewy meat at typical places. The emphasis is on FRESH and light. No syrupy sauce, no heavy mayo dressing. Vegetables are not an afterthought. The greens are delicious! Be aware that portions are smaller than typical. One order is one serving, not 2-3 servings. But the quality is more than worth it.
