The food is awesome. The catfish, the grits, the cornbread, the shrimp- everything is exceptional. Why 3-star? Because they have the worst service! The staff left the door open in the winter, yelled across the space asking who closed it, and didn't provide drinks until reminded. Other pettier things that aren't worth mentioning but reinforce the review.
Very good food! Ms. Barbara was nice and talked to us for about 15 minutes. Our food was cooked to order. It came out hot and tasty! The red beans and rice are amazing!!
I strongly recommend this place. The red beans and rice were simple, with a good flavor. A little hot sauce was the perfect addition to jazz it up. The fried chicken and waffles was exceptional- crispy chicken, sweet and perfectly-cooked waffle, real butter. Honestly much better than most other places that have this dish. If you like collared greens they were a satisfying addition to the meal. I'll be back again soon.
Really good food. Ordered at the counter and our food was brought out to us. I had a biscuit sandwich with gravy and my fiancee had the red beans and rice. No complaints about the food or the service. It's a really small and cozy place tucked away off the beaten path. Would definitely come back!
So good! I came in today with friends for breakfast. The biscuits were fresh and soft in the center and crispy/crusty on the outside - just perfect. The grits were amazing, as was the chicken sausage. A wonderful small spot that can be easily overlooked, but totally worth the stop! The staff was so warm, helpful and friendly - it felt like family!!!
