Exceeded my expectations. Great food and drink on a Friday night. Had a great time.
Food is great and the lunch portions are even better! It is very, very hot in here! Uncomfortable! I took my food to go, I could not imagine dining in.
To preface, did not have a good experience, some of this is on me and some of it on The Sexton. Interior is very "hipster/punk/grunge", loud music and lighting, open air, not conducive for a quiet dinner (this is on me). Service was horrible. Our waitress did her best, but it was clear she was overwhelmed (this is on management, not her). Drinks took 30 minutes, literally. The table next to us got up and left after waiting too long. Food was good, but not outstanding, pretty typical pub/bar fare. Didn't get any kind of apology or attempt to acknowledge our wait, half expected to get comped our drinks, but I did not voice a complaint (on me). My advice to management: decide if you want to be a bar that serves food, or a restaurant that has a bar, having your foot in both camps isn't working. Properly staff yourself.
Rustic hipster vibe, I would recommend this place for a casual date or to catch up with friends. I came during happy hour and the drinks were on point. The lamb and chevre burger was excellent!
