Very good food, the brisket and pulled pork were great but the Mac and cheese really stole the show. 12/10 on the mac and cheese.
Great place to stop after Steven’s Pass and bring home food for the fam! I know this sounds so lame but the chicken was phenomenal!! The brisket is top notch, same with the ribs — honestly it’s all great!
There's almost but not quite enough tetanus on the outside, and the interior is definitely too clean and thus my expectation for good bbq was low. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually quite delicious, not shack-in-rural-GA good but still good. I liked how they didn't chop all the fat off the brisket like a lot of grill masters do. In fact, they served lean and fatty together which was a nice touch. The rub could use some more cayenne for my taste but good for kids. A lot of negative reviews mention small servings -- yes, the servings are smaller than most BBQ places. Well, America, your coronary plaque is already thick enough; three slices of brisket is plenty.
We stopped here for lunch after skiing at Steven’s Pass. Food was delicious! We ordered a sausage sandwich and brisket plate with mac n cheese, collared greens, and dirty rice as sides. Even the sides were extremely flavorful! We also bought their sweet and Smokey BBQ sauce which they sell in 12 ounce bottles (along with 3 other flavors). I will definitely visit Smokey’s again!
