“Got there about noon today, Christmas day. The place was absolutely slammed. At least two dozen people waiting, and groups of three or more had extremely long waits. The two of us in my party were told it would be fifteen or twenty minutes. Thirty five minutes later we saw two seats open at the counter (open seating there) so we pounced. At the counter we got to see up close the organized chaos the wait staff and kitchen staff were contending with. We saw every single one of them. They were busting their humps non-stop, no slack, yet with smiles on their faces and some even singing carols. They were amazing! I guessed they must be getting a pretty decent bonus to be in such high spirits while working on Christmas. I asked a couple of them about that and was dumbfounded when told no, they were not getting any bonus! The owner/corporate, whatever, does not deserve the staff working in that place. If I could, I would fire Black Bear and keep the staff.”

“The place was full when I walked in. I went to the counter to ask if I could sit on the other side of the wall as there were a few tables and seats in occupied. I was told no that was the waiting area and coffee shop. She told me to put my name on the list by the door so I did. Mind you when I put my name on the list I was.next. I sat in the waiting area and watched an older couple come in and it appeared they got seated just as someone was leaving (No wait). I decided to follow suit. When I saw a couple leaving I just went and sat at that table they were vacating. Enough about that. The food was actually quite good. I had breakfast and the serving was plentiful and delicious. Their menu is sure to please even the most picky of diners as they.have a variety of staples and healthy options as well. I will definitely go back. However they should seriously 're think that whole waiting/coffee shop thing that wasn't being used. In a nutshell...Good food...Slow service...confusing seating process.”

“We appreciate how hot and fresh the food was. We travel to your restaurant versus the one closest to us because you have a working shake machine, you change out the oil. The onion rings were crunchy and fresh, the burgers were still hot when we got it home, the grande sausage burrito was actually made correctly. Please keep the food fresh and hot! When your tired and just want a good hot juicy burger and a cold beverage, it is good to know we can go to your restaurant. Keep up the good work!”

“Was a bit nervous coming here after a quick Google search of "the area" of this bar, upon entering, I noticed some mild music playing, games on TV's, and a crowd inside that seemed to all know one another. Nice older man at bar to chit chat with and was also introduced to owner. Bartender in shift, Bobby, was working by himself and maintained drink, food, and pull tab orders with ease. He was very friendly and professional. Would give 5 stars, but the 'dated decor" makes this bar seem dirtier than it actually is. That aside, was a good first time in bar and would for sure back as bartender really made me feel welcomed.”

“I found my Mexican food go to spot yesterday! They're service was good and the waitress kindly answered any questions we had. I ordered the Torta wich to my surprise already included all the meats and was freshly made, and was very flavorful. Their Red salsa was delicious and i kept eating it after I finished my food. “It is a good Korean chicken place. I loved the cozy private booths. I had delicious fried chicken and my daughters shared chickens feet and spicy chicken. The prices were not expensive for the amount of food. I was full on $10. The booth has a tv and they had a Korean girl band on so, I got to see pretty girls dancing. I will be going back. It is next to Discount World.”

“Had to try this place. I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was great. I had the boneless BBQ. It was delicious. The fries a crinkle fries( not my favorite), but they were cooked well and tasted good. The biscuit was amazing! All in all pretty content. A bit pricey at $10, and not as filling as I would have liked. I would probably try the food again, although I would order something that was more filling.”

“Tried this place for the first time on Friday. The Red Curry lunch special was the best curry I have ever had in the Tacoma area. Spice level two was perfect balance for me (spice levels here are the real deal). The pot stickers, egg rolls, and spring rolls were perfect (yes I tried all three). The Thai Tea was delicious as well. It was such a great lunch that I brought my wife for dinner to see what she thought. She got the Thai fried rice and of course she loved it. These people legitimately love their business and it shows. The restaurant is squeaky clean inside and they take the greatest pride in everything they do. I don’t regret coming here twice in one day. Next time I go I will definitely take photos to share.”
