My daughter and I came there for our first time and I have to say we thoroughly loved our burgers. She had a bacon cheeseburger and I had the spicy queso burger. It's not heavy on the spice but it is a perfect balance. I wish it was not as messy, however I consumed every bite. My goal is to try every burger they have including the peanut butter burger????.....
I had the peanut butter burger. Well worth the risk. It really works well. It almost makes it taste Thai in a way that is really tasty. It is just peanut butter, not peanut sauce, on the bottom bun of the burger. But on my palate, it just had a little hint of Asian to it. In a really good way. Let me reiterate that it's not an Asian burger in any way. But that's where my head went when I tasted it. And I will definitely eat it again.
Spanky's is amazing. We drove by and the smell in the air was so amazing we had to stop. The burgers was the best I have had in a restaurant, possibly ever. They fries cooked just right. The "wings" was whole chicken legs, they have malts. We loved it!!
My normal meal here is the Grilled Chicken salad with a side of their house fries. The salad has plenty of protein and comes with dressing on the side. The lettuce is crisp and the bacon is copious.
The fries are hot, salty, and perfect.
They also have tons of seasonal and local beers on tap. Also kombucha!
Based on a combination of reviews, one would conclude this place being a hit or miss depending on who is working, who is cooking, and how the day has been. Full moon and crazy nights and waitresses on their monthly...yeah not so good. Other days? Perfect and happiness. It's a luck of the draw, really, because everything is dependent on who works and how they feel about the work that day.
Burgers seem good, taste good, and not your average fast food burger either. It's fancy gourmets that's the bottom line.
Best recommendations is ignore everything else and just focus on the good and the brew and you will have a good time!
