Delicious! Absolutely love it that there is a fantastic Mexican restaurant in town.
Flavorful dishes. Spicy. Fresh ingredients. Great atmosphere. Wonderful owner and staff.
I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup and the broth was oh-so good. It is spicy. It does have onions. But these are things I love. Yes, it's big enough and plenty of chicken that it's a meal in and of itself.
Not that I needed more food but to share as an appetizer ordered the chicken taquitos in flour tortillas. In retrospect I wish I had asked for one of them to be steak. But. Guess I'll just have to come back again. :)
The sangria is giant so much so that my friend couldn't finish it. But! It didn't go to waste. They pack it to go in a very fancy pouch with a straw. Awesome.
Start of service was slow. They need to work on getting to their table at the beginning of being seated. Waited for 15 min before anyone came to check to see if we were ready to order anything. Another 15 min to get drinks. Once we got food it was yummy. Nachos needed more heating and chips. But all in all I would come back.
I think they have the potential to be great, but not the best I have had in Spokane. To the owners my suggestions are as follows, 1.fajitas use quality steak that's not chewy. It shouldn't be tough like beef jerky. People don't mind paying $21.00 dollars for fajitas, but don't be cheap with beef you use. Common issue I find with Spokane Mexican restaurants they all use mid grade beef to save a buck Rice should be cooked and soft tonight the rice was under cooked. Nachos are good but using.cheeze sauce would make them better. I grew up in SoCal so my expectations are as such. A couple of changes and they could compete and beat the other lack luster Mexican restaurants in Spokane.
Lunch today was so delicious. The salsa is out of this world. Actually everything we ate was so good. The service was outstanding. I can't wait to return for more of this delisiousness!
There is hope here!
Probably the best place for Mexican food for miles. Beats out the competition (that I've reviewed in the past). Glad Cantarito is open to serve the community. I was surprised I got to get a seat during lunchtime. In due time, this place will get packed as word spreads of this newly opened venue.
Customer service was great and friendly. Food for price point is just right. I prefer salsa a little more spicy (but the one given with fried tortilla chips is made so that everyone can enjoy and is more of a mild.
Taco trio plate was delicious. The rice, beans, and steak were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Tacos were a little oily from the steak, but no complaints there. Guacamole was a little different than what I've had in the past. Probably something I'll have to try again and test with other dishes.
There's a lot of offerings. See pics! Come here and enjoy. I'll be back for sure. Best of luck on your new restaurant, Cantarito.
Few things I'd recommend is to give customers a few extra napkins. One given with utensils was not enough. Lol. Possibly have a retractable arm for the bathroom doors as some were left wide open at the view of the center tables.
Other than that 5☆ out 5☆s.
