Very eclectic atmosphere. A sort of fusion between Mexican and Cajun cuisine. The Queso is fire and a must. Great portions and most plates are $20 and under.
I don't know where to start. Service was a shame. Two people on, in the FOH for what I would think was a slow Friday night. They didn't perform well together. I didn't order food because the menu looked simple and bland. Food coming out of the kitchen confirmed that. However, I did hear a few patron's compliments of tastiness. So maybe looks are deceiving. With just a few simple improvements, this could be a fun spot for dining. The best part of the experience was the cook checking on me as he passed. It showed the BOH cared about clients which was just the opposite of what I experienced watching the two up front do.
Authentic entry, a den with a study theme invited feeling! The foods ordered were decent, not enthusiastic about the burrito. Staff were attentive in their duties.
What? No way I didn't already review the Bad Seed. I think this is our third time and the first was shortly after they opened. I can definitely say that the food has been outstanding every time. Their flavors are amazing and ingredients top quality. The drinks are also unique and high quality. It is also cool that the building used to be the Hillyard library where I got my first library card. Can't wait to come back!
Wow, what a great meal in a unique setting. The old library building is very quaint. Service was great and there are lots of food options. We tried the shrimp and grits ($15) which was very good. We also enjoyed a three taco platter ($15) with shrimp, chicken and skirt steak tacos. All three were fantastic as well as the rice and black beans. The cocktails are well executed. They use fresh juice and house made syrups. We tried the Cadillac Margarita and the Under the Volcano. Both were excellent. I highly recommend The Bad Seed. We will be back!
