Super cool old school diner. Amazing service, food was solid. Some of the best hash browns I’ve ever had. Light and super crispy.
I so wanted to say how great this place is...this was one of the first places we visited when we moved here two years ago. We loved it.
We both got the biscuit and gravy special with eggs and hash browns.
The eggs were great...biscuit was difficult to cut with a fork...gravy was tasteless...and the hash browns were lyonnaise potatoes which were somewhat rubbery.
The shining star was Rose. So pleasant and full of energy, I'd come back just for her.
Uncle Rusty’s is easy to miss as you cruise west along Spokane’s 2nd Avenue. It’s in a tough neighborhood, and behind the large windows is a family-run restaurant, Uncle Rusty is one of the cooks, the Mom and daughter wait tables, and the food is made from scratch. The booths are comfortable, and the regulars stream in. The gravy is refreshingly light and the food is not over salted. Sure, the fabric on the booth might be torn from years of wear, but this place will feed your heart and soul if you let it.
We were very pleasantly surprised by this place! The building itself looks a little rough around the edges, but don’t let it scare you away because the food and the service here is exceptional. The coffee was delicious, as were the sweet cream pancakes and corned beef hash. This place is definitely a new favorite for us. The only issue I had was that the bathroom could use some work. I look forward to going here again!
Great place! Great people. So much food I had to get rolled out!! Staff is fun and friendly.
It was fun to exchange our favorite jokes.
Waffles were perfection as usual and the bacon was cooked just right.
We love coming to Uncle Rusty’s Diner because it’s right off the Spokane Freeway and close to downtown.
Thank you Rose!
