Overall it is a delightful little neighborhood spot with a nice selection of small plates, mead & ciders, and seasonal cocktails. I am happy that the owners reached out regarding an unfortunate interaction I witnessed between one of their bartenders and a member of the community with disabilities - it seems like they are making an effort to improve their accessibility & inclusion practices. I have enjoyed the atmosphere of Honey Moon and their small, intimate shows for over a decade, so I am happy that they continue to work to build community in various ways.
Hmmm, was looking forward to visiting, yet disappointed. The young gal was quite busy having an animated conversation with two patrons at the bar and I barely got her attention. The older gentlemen seemed to be completely uninterested in giving anyone attention, including the gal serving me. Considering that I only drink local mead or PNW hard cider, I was hoping for, "Hi, Welcome, have you been here before? Have you ever had our mead/cider ??" Or" can I suggest a 'flight'??". Oh well, I'll go back to Sky River Mead or Artivem or Seattle Mead (in Anacortes!). S k'a' l !!
More jazz please! Thursday night jams are such a vibe. This is such a cozy place to enjoy great mead and great tunes.
I have always loved playing open mics and attending special events at the Honeymoon because the community is tight-knit and very welcoming. I love this little room so much and can't help but keep returning to it. You will have some special times there - I certainly have! Also, the mead and cider can't be beat.
We’ve gone to the Honey Moon since about 2010 and are regularly telling people about how great their mead is. This is not your typical mead that just tastes like sugar syrup. This is complex and nuanced mead, with many varieties to choose from. The Wassail is our go to and if they have it the Reserve that was aged in bourbon barrels cannot be missed.
The space is beautiful and cozy, with great local musicians all the time. This is a top three favorite bars of all time for us, just perfect.
