Mela Bangladeshi Cuisine

Our family had the most incredible meal at Mela while we were visiting from LA to drop our son at school. Every dish was delicious, the staff was kind and helpful and the whole vibe of the place is wonderful. I especially loved the spinach and the delicious chicken curry. I can’t wait to return. Perfect meal.

Vegan options. Ate the veggie Samosas which you could tell were homemade. Awesome. Had a dish similar to Aloo Gobi. Everything tasted really fresh.

I visited Mela's with high expectations due to the reviews and a recommendation from a friend. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun and inviting. The staff were friendly and after dinner the owner came out to visit with us and check on our satisfaction with the meal.

The menu had a variety of traditional Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine and I opted for Butter Chicken as it is my comparison dish for any new restaurant of this type. The flavor of the dish was decent, but nothing spectacular. I was disappointed that the chicken didn't come in a dish filled with the butter sauce, but came sitting on a bed of rice.

I also ordered the Garlic Naan, which wasn't very flavorful and tasted pretty much like the regular order of Naan my dinner companion ordered. The menu states it, but they don't make their own Naan, and it seemed like it was the kind of Naan you would buy at Costco.

Overall, this was a decent experience but sadly it didn't live up to the hype.

Truly delicious with wonderful flavors omg and those chicken samosas were delicious also make sure to get that tamarind sauce. I also got the Lamb curry so delicious with just enough spice and a nice fluffy rice and palate cleanser. A must get is the chai tea with the Golap Jum a perfect place to go out to treat yourself or go on a nice date with the wonderful art throughout the restaurant. The owners were great host as well, making each guest feel welcome. To wrap it all up definitely give this place a try.

I dined with friends and had a pleasant experience overall. This establishment is highly recommended for those seeking a refined and comfortable atmosphere to enjoy quality time with friends and family. The decor showcases Bengali culture and heritage, creating a cozy and classy ambience. Even if you're not a food enthusiast, the authentic arts on display are worth a visit - it's like an art exhibition!
