A hearty meal in every gorgeous plate . . . The food is good every time. For mid-range prices, you're not going to find a better gastronomic experience.
An awesome restaurant with delicious food! Matt and his staff treat the customers with a great atmosphere and of course the fantastic food! I highly recommend!!
Having grown up in Asia for 18 years I know what good duck taste like. Especially peking duck. I ordered the duck wings on a whim, but not expecting much. They were AMAZING! Make sure to order the sauce for the duck wings ON THE SIDE, for an authentic duct Taste. Also ordered the truffle waffle fries with blue cheese. Truffle is such a delicate flavor I would never combined it with blue cheese. I recommend if you order these waffle fries to have them serve the blue cheese on the side. Blue cheese and fries is good. Truffle oil tossed on fries is good. But the combination of both together is not. Ordered the coffee rubbed flat iron steak, it was excellent, though we had them put the balsamic reduction on the side. I preferred the steak without the balsamic reduction. However now I know why Americans do not like vegetables, the wilted collard greens and sweet potato hash were so overcooked, mushy and salted they were inedible.
The Vagabond Kitchen is well worth a stop for an amazing meal in downtown Wheeling West Virginia. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff quite knowledgeable and fun to chat with. Make sure to ask them about Chef Matt and his journeys, it will keep you entertained! The bathrooms we're spotless and easy to locate. Parking was on the street but it was easy to locate an empty spot even during a busy time. Now the food: AMAZING! As foodies that have traveled the world we know a thing or two about a good meal and ours were superb. They had gluten free and vegan options available that were clearly labeled on the menu. They were very accommodating to dietary restrictions so you know everything was freshly made. The coffee was even high quality and freshly brewed. Make this a stop for a meal or even just a drink in a hipster-esque environment, you will not be disappointed.
My first time there and definitely will be going back. The food was absolutely exquisite. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. And when the owner stopped at our table and made sure we were good, a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend
