In the summer, this restaurant has no competition in Snowshoe (everything else is closed). There are very few vegetarian options besides the starch heavy sides. The service was really good. We had to wait 20-30min for a table but they were spot on “come back in 20-30 min” and seated us. Our server, Ron, was great. He was very patient with menu questions, refilled our water frequently, did not rush or pressure us to order more or eat faster, and provided us helpful travel recommendations. The fries are bad. The pulled pork is good.
The food is amazing and the service is great, very wholesome and cozy atmosphere, with cordial and professional staff. In my opinion the best restaurant on Snowshoe Mountain.
Would highly recommend the salmon or pork shank. Good local brewed beer on tap 👍
Overall, amazing location and wonderful food 😋
Food was pretty decent for the resort area and prices are fair. The servers we had were pretty good. We went 2 nights while staying at Snowshoe. Reason for only 3 stars and not 5 was because the same woman hostess, think her name was Jen, at the front was very rude and snappy each night we ate here. I'm not sure why you have a rude employee working the front because that's your first impression. If I was management I would fire her so quickly. No customer service skills, short with any answers, and rude undertones. After she sat us she went back to hanging out with her friends at another table. Took several minutes for her to even acknowledge we were waiting at the host stand. Other than her the restaurant was pretty good.
We thoroughly enjoyed dining at the Foxfire Grille. It was convenient that they are first come, first serve because as vacationers we don't always have the luxury of planning weeks in advance. We had the Saw Mill Chips as an appetizer. The pulled pork on the the appetizer was AMAZING, the other elements complimented the pork nicely. What a yummy, savory starter. My boyfriend ordered the ribs as is and he said they were really tasty! I order the the BBQ Salmon dish. Although I couldn't enjoy the corn pudding that is normally served on the side (due to dietary restrictions) the baked potato was my choice of side and it was good. The salmon, with the bacon and blistered tomatoes was awesome. And to top off the Chef's amazing cuisine, we also had an awesome server! Her name was Megan (spelling?), she was attentive, sweet, and knowledgeable. Thanks Foxfire Grille staff for making our night 10x then it was originally.
Great food eat here 3 times.. covid makes the service very slow. It was all take out. The salads and Hamburgers were awesome... the wings hard some great heat to them.. so if dine out only give yourself ample time to get served. Truly the best food on the snowshoe mountain. Thanks just be patient with the carry out orders!!
