I love the drive-in. Good food. Fast service. Friendly people.
This is one of my favorite places to visit. They have slipped up and food is not as great. They have always exceeded my expectation. However this particular visit the the service was not as anticipated. Beckley is my home town and I have never experienced this place take so long to prepare orders. There was only one waitress and although I believe she was doing her best. The service was subpar. I believe they would benefit from hiring more staff. Seems the kitchen was fully staffed so I don't know why it took so long. I generally stop in each time I'm in town and never previously had a problem. Now I must be particular about my order. I must specifically ask them to prepare it properly. It must be under new management or was having a bad week as I went twice. I really hope the get it together or this long time customer may have to search for another option for the best hotdogs in town.
Some of the best comfort food in Beckley. Back in the early 70's It was a must to get the BBQ sandwiches with coleslaw every chance we could. Ms.Lillian Banks cooked back then and it was always delicious. After we moved to Texas, every visit home before we made it up to Stanaford to grandma's we would stop here. When I come home I make it a point to stop and get barbecue sandwiches. Living in Texas in the early 70's people thought it was strange to put coleslaw on pulled pork sandwiches or grilled burgers. Something I do till this day. Because King Tut was a constant factor in my younger years living in WV.
One of the best older restaurants in Beckley. Their potato wedges, grilled hot dogs, and Double King Cheeseburgers on homemade buns are delicious (I prefer slaw on the cheeseburger). They also have a good Chef Salad, Swiss Steak Platter with a yummy baked potato with cheese ,etc inside and much more. Good milkshakes as well.
Slightly disappointed. Loyal customer (& family as well) 40+
Pizza crust was different. Besides being overcooked..sauce seemed different. Wait time, service, was excellent as usual. However, some of us that have been happily going for many years, get extremely frustrated on busy nights when some moronic idiot pulls in the rt side of there to Pick up, & there are 10 cars lined around the carport from the Lt side. Put some arrows w/"Pick up/Pay/Go!" & "DO NOT Enter!"
That would be awesome. Thanks
