Old Southern BBQ Smokehouse

Have not been disappointed yet. One of our favorite places in Rice Lake. Tonight we did take out with some platters and it was terrific. We've had great service when dining in. Take out was just as pleasant. Can't beat the ribs but you can fight the kids for them. ???? It is some of their favorites, too. Thank you.

I tried the 1/2 rib platter with Jimmie Beans and Creamy Coleslaw as my sides. The ribs were extremely tender and just the right amount of subtle smoke on them that tasted great with several of the BBQ sauces I tried. The Jimmie Beans were delicious with bits of BBQ seasoning meat along with bits of peppers in the sauce to give it some great flavor. The Creamy Coleslaw was fresh and crunchy and the sauce wasn't too sweet or too tangy, just a nice balance that reminded me of Grandma's coleslaw. The cornbread muffin was warm and the sweet tea was exactly how Iike it, just a hint of sweet that tastes good and cools you down on a summer evening. I look forward to my next visit when I'm by this way.

For my first time experience it was okay. I would describe this as a Dickey’s BBQ. BBQ sauce was mediocre, time to make the food for 6 people took about 15 minutes. Small selection of beer, and atmosphere was nice and inviting

I would assume they were short handed because tables were being cleared very slowly and the food took pretty long for not being very busy.

Actual food was pretty good though.
