This place was really relaxing and enjoyable to eat at. While the cuisine wasn't world shattering it was perfectly prepared and made with fresh and delicious ingredients. This alone puts this place miles ahead of most of the East side of Madison. The spinach artichoke dip was rich and creamy fully recommended.
The Service was good and the food was awesome. I ordered the jamaican jerk pork tenderloin. I loved it. It was great. My water glass was never empty and the manager and waitress checked on us several times. What else could you want
I was told that I could sit in the bar due to dinning room was full. I sat at a bar side table and then I was told that was for larger parties of people. I was alone. The host was rude and unfriendly. However the waitress was wonderful she said the host was not a nice person. I was given a free dessert for being a Veteran. Food was good.
We had a meeting there with 12 people. The Fireplace Room was a great place for us to gather and discuss our agenda. Our reservations were easy, the hostesses were receptive to our requests, the bartender gave us great service, our waiters were extremely attentive to our needs, our food tasted absolutely amazing, and all while being able to focus on our work at hand. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning again, for both personal and professional reasons.
One of my favorite restaurants in Madison and here's why... the wings, full wing sections that are smoked to perfection and lightly glazed in sauce. The dry rub sealed in wonderful smokey meat that was succulent and flavorful. The side of blue cheese was also custom, there were little bits of sweet onion which was a nice touch. They also give you real wet towels so you actually don't need to go to the restroom to wash your hands... subtle but really nice.
The salad I ordered used freshly cut, freshly washed romaine, which so many restaurants use precut bagged greens. The portion size on the salad was awesome as well.
My dad's ribs were melting away to flavor town. My mom's scallops were also perfectly cooked as well. Service was top notch. Can't wait to go to back.
I had driven past this restaurant so many times after leaving the gym and always wrote it off as a "mall parking lot" restaurant in the likes of the neighboring red lobster and olive garden type vibes. Doolittle's is so far away from the typical chain format, and I'm glad we gave it a shot.
