“The staff were really helpful and nice. I needed shawarma seasoning and this place had some. They have tons of great spices and fresh halal meat. They have a great selection of other foods as well. It is small, but they have a good selection for their size. It was clean and the prices were great. If you are looking to add some spice to your food I highly recommend shopping here.”

“Service here was mid. The guy at the cash register wasn’t too too friendly, but that’s fine. What was slightly upsetting was that I came before this large family, and the waitress ended up bringing my bowl to one of them (i.e. they didn’t pay attention to the table numbers, which they gave to everyone else but me). 21 minute wait. Food was decent though.”

“This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Madison! The margaritas were absolutely delicious and refreshing. The Big Sur was very tasty! Our meals were hot and full of flavor. We got tacos and a burrito and they were amazing! We cannot recommend this place enough! The staff is also hardworking and very friendly. I really hope people are patient with this place. Remember they are a new business and we certainly hope they succeed and will be back! 10/10”

“I was just passing by when noticing the open sign, having seen the coming soon banner for some time. I did not intend to have a full meal, but ultimately left very satisfied. The potato vareniki was mild, pleasant. The lamb kabob was flavorful and tender, served with copious onion and herb that paired well. I finalized my meal with baklava that was decadent. The space is open and well decorated. I do wonder how loud it might be when filled during a dinner service, however. The waiter informed me that the establishment was opening in phases, and at the time of this review only the kitchen was ready. I look forward to coming back once it is fully operational!”

“They have lunch buffet!!! We were ecstatic to find a place still serving lunch buffet, and the food was splendid! We expected limited offerings, but we were pleasantly surprised. Will definitely go back”

“Excellent first experience at Amara! The drink selection is extensive, the food was on par with local Madison restaurants, as was the price, and the service at lunchtime was much better than average. The decor was fresh/new and pleasant. We ordered dessert "off menu" and they delivered better than some of their one menu items- get the affogato.”

“I went in here on a beautiful morning with my family to get a delicious and nutritious breakfast. I walked into the establishment and got my food to be greeted with the devils movie (phonography) playing on the TV! I was horrified and tried to get my family to leave but my husband has his eyes fixated on the TV watching a beautiful redhead get violated by a man much larger than her. Me and my husband ended up staying to watch and brought another couple in the bar home to have some fun!!! overall great experience.”

“I love this new hotpot place. You can do a huge one for the table or individual ones. All the ingredients were fresh and the service/waiter was so sweet. He explained how everything worked and did his best to make sure we were good, even when it starting getting super busy. They are brand new and currently doing a soft opening where the all you can eat is only 30$ per person! Afterwards I think it will go up to 32/34$ which with all the veggies and meat options its still a rather good deal! I will definitely be back this winter for some more.”

“Most delicious bakery in Madison! We were fortunate to have Bloom cake and cupcakes at our wedding! The bride is gluten-free, and If you’ve been to Bloom, you know how delicious their baked goods are. (If you haven’t been to Bloom, you should go right now.) The staff was easy to work with and they provided us with a tasting box option to help narrow down the flavors we were looking for. We served cupcakes for our guests: chocolate ganache, carrot cake and blueberry-lemon, all outrageously delicious, and our guests loved them. As for ourselves, we had a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting… and we made a point NOT to share something this good. :-) Gluten-free or not, if you’re looking for the best cake in the Madison area, then look no further than Bloom.”

“From start to finish this place was great. We had about a 40 minute wait on a Friday at about 6:00. Got to have a couple old fashions at the bar. Highly recommend the pretzel as an app. We all got a different kind of fish and they were all great. Great spot.”

“Awesome bar! I travel a lot and know a good place when I find one. Every game imaginable except shuffleboard available! Volleyball, cornhole, horseshoes, axe throwing, beer pong, darts, and two pool tables. Never have I seen so many fun games in one place! Makes me wish I lived down the street!”

“I stopped into Mercie's while on a recent trip to Madison. First of all, thank you for being open early! It should be illegal to own a coffee shop and open at 8PM or later and thankfully Mercie's opens up nice and early on weekdays and was a great early morning stop. I ordered a cup of their dark roast coffee that was delicious and also ordered one of their breakfast toasts. The toast is a thick cut of sourdough bread and is topped with peanut butter, bananas, homemade granola and a drizzle of honey. This is a fork and knife sort of toast and is absolutely dynamite. Packed with flavor and freshness, this is the sort of toast you could eat every single day and never grow tired of it. Mercie's has a great, hip vibe to it and is the kind of place that you could fire up the laptop, enjoy some coffee and get some work done. All in all, an excellent spot! One I will certainly be back to when in Madison next!”

“This new place totally exceeded my expectations. Steak lunch special makes me feel special! The mushroom sauce was an excellent compliment to the tender and super delicious steak. The beans and rice were so good I ate them all. Making my mouth water just thinking about how good it was. Can't wait to try the chicken. Really nice service and a colorful fun ambiance combined with the good music made me actually say Viva la Columbia!”

“Really great food, with a lot of different options! I wish they had more vegetarian choices. They have a tomato base and coconut curry base for their veg noodles. The appetizers are very tasty as well. The service is incredibly fast, we sat down for a few minutes and the food was ready. The bowls that they bring the noodles out in are awesome as they hold the heat well and allow for the noodles to stay warm for easily half an hour to forty five minutes if not more.”

“Good Chinese restaurant on State Street. Fast friendly service, nice facility, good food. The only down side was that they brought out my entree at the same time as my appetizer. One thing to be aware of is that they do not have fountain soda, so if you order a refill on your Pepsi, you're buying a new can.”

“Best garlic rolls I've ever had. Staff toasts six homemade rolls each time you order, lightly crisping the edges before they get slathered with a fresh garlic butter and a pinch of parmesean, not a dash of cheap garlic salt to be found! Pizza comes in a BIG wide slice with a crust tossed thin in the center and thick & chewy for the crust. Definitely recommend folding your slice NY style and eating it that way. Dough is perfectly salted as well, if you're sick of cheap garlic salt and looking for authentic Italian pizza this is your place!”

“Been to the Turn Key twice so far. During our first visit, every dish was on point: fries were well-done and crispy outside, and the corn pudding pie was HEAVEN! We decided to go again tonight, and ordered the same fries and pie. Unfortunately this time the fries were under done (no fluffy interior, kinda grainy, and soggy outside), and this time we felt the pie crust had way too much salt! We hope the quality of the food can be more consistent because we really like this spot. We also ordered the pork chop and mushroom toast this time. Both were delicious!”
