Memorial Union Terrace

THE place to be during the summer in Madison. If anyone visits from out of town, this is the first place I bring them. They have food, beer, and often live music. The sunsets here are amazing and it's awesome to just sit down with some friends and watch the sail boats play on the lake while you soak in the essence of summer.

Newly remodeled Memorial Union Terrace is very pleasant. The lake views and the hike to picnic point are few things to enjoy. You can get I scream or simple food items right there. Definitely worth of visiting and spending time especially during sunny warm days.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO BE ON CAMPUS! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH! Depending on the time of day, it can be serene or epic and rowdy! Summer nights on the Terrace are some of my favorite memories as a college student: cold Wisconsin beer, live music, large crowds, and boats all around on the lake.
Parking is available right across the street at the library garage or several blocks down towards downtown Madison.
PSA: just make sure you fill out the beer voucher and have your current/old student ID!

This place is magic! We visited while it was still a pretty chilly out but school was out of session. The sunset and chill vibe were so relaxing. It’s easy to imagine this place popping in the summer with lively crowds, music, and great food and drink. While we didn’t buy anything, the lakeside view is stunning at sunset. If you get the chance, head west along the lakeside trail for a beautiful stroll. We’ll be back!

This truly is one of my favorite places on earth. It doesn't get much better than sitting on the Terrace with friends and a pitcher (or two) of Spotted Cow on a nice summer day. I love that it's the perfect meeting place whenever I'm back in town and want to connect with old friends. The Terrace is one of many things that make UW-Madison a great place to go to school.
