Nitty Gritty-Middleton

As a vegan, I love the expanded vegan menu. Vegan gritty burger was great. They have 3 different vegetarian burger patties: multigrain, black bean, or the ever popular Impossible burger. Vegan cheese is an option too. The vegan chocolate-peanut butter shake was even better. Nitty Gritty now officially makes the cut for a venue for the whole omnivorous and vegan family.

Obviously, they have the birthday drink deal. My wife was able to get a birthday mug with unlimited refills of any tap (including the cider) or the vodka punch they had mixed. They had a good selection of draft beers at decent prices. The service, however, was super slow (it was not, in any way, busy). I had planned to purchase apps and more drinks but never had the opportunity.

We really enjoyed our meal here. I got the Friday night walleye fish fry, and it was very good. The waffle fries are great. My brother in law got their hamburger with the pork belly and the bacon jelly...it was fantastic!

What an amazing staff and the meals were fantastic. I had my brother and sister in laws help setup a surprise birthday party for my wife as she was turning.... (I'll keep that a secret to keep my marriage happy).

I had not been at the Nitty Gritty for over 20 years but it was great to be back and be able to bring my wife back to a spot (even though she was more familiar with the downtown location) it still brought back some college memories.

Thx so much for an amazing time and as I said the staff was superb in keep it a secret as we walked back to where our friends and family were ready to yell.... S U R P R I S E !
