I've been to Buck & Honey's many times. The Cheese Curds are the best I have had anywhere, ever! The service is usually pretty good but I've never had terrible service. After reading the reviews I see one recurring theme that I agree with and that is the complaints about it being loud! It is! Particularly on the nights when they have someone strumming a guitar and singing. I think that's great but I've always thought it was too loud. I'm usually there on a date trying to get to know somebody new and it is generally difficult to have any real conversations unless you are seated away from the front of the establishment. Honestly, if I wanted to contend with "coffee house" singers, I'd go to a coffee house. Other than that, B&H's has always been a good experience.
Edit 05/21/2019 - They changed their cheese curd recipe/style and no longer have the best cheese curds in the area. I no longer go there as the former cheese curds (big sassy cow curds with shaved parmesan cheese) were the only thing on the menu worth the price. If you are looking for supper club experiences there are better options around if you are willing to drive a bit.
The food was simply amazing. Very different menu but I'm excited to go back and try something else. French fries are cut fresh and homemade. The soup I chose was steak and potatoes. I wanted to swim in it. Bottom line? GO! Experience something different and unique.
Fist time I went there! Excellent service. Food arrived quickly, I ordered the Friday Cod dinner. Cheesy potatoes were awesome, fish was excellent crispy and hot, bun had good flavor, coleslaw tasted good (but was room temp),water was excellent.(wondering if it was filtered. Definitely not your typical city water). Soda was flat.
Excellent food and service on an Easter morning brunch. We had a reservation and our table was waiting for us when we checked in 15 minutes early, impressive. Drinks were served promptly and our food arrived at just the right time. Moderately priced and worth it. Enjoy!
We had a great experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is great, very warm colors and a layout that feels cozy but not crowded. Our food was delicious. The French onions soup was good, the bread and cheese on the soup melted together with the base. I also had a salted nut roll martini that wasn't a sugar bomb but was easy to drink and something I would recommend to others. I ordered the chicken champagne, my chicken was cook and still moist. The champagne sauce was rich but to much so. The wild mushrooms stole the stool though, a bit too cooked for my taste but it is made up for with the variety of mushrooms and flavors. The staff was excellent as well!
