Door County Ice Cream Factory & Sandwich Shoppe

We found this place last year on our annual camping trip. It isn't in the town center, but a little North of the Sister Bay. You'll be glad you went that little bit further to find them. We have only gotten the excellent ice cream treats, but we see many people ordering the pizza also. We come back every year.

It's iconic! My family has been enjoying their ice cream for decades! It's delicious. We have had dinner as well, which is ok. But we go for the ice cream. You can sit inside or outside which I like. Our visits wouldn't be complete without stopping.

After having ice cream here I will never want to eat any other ice cream again. The peanut butter ice cream was phenomenal and had almost a chewy texture. I loved it because there was no chocolate. The Cherry ice cream was absolutely delicious. The ice cream is rich but not too sweet.

Great sandwich, wrap, sub selection also few salads, soup & of course ice cream! We shared a sandwich with side of baby carrots & it was very good. You have about 5 options of sides with your type of sandwich. The Cherry & double chocolate sundae was delicious. Prices are a bit high & most of the kids working there are helpful & efficient. Appeared clean & the historic building & deco reminds me of an old kids camp from years ago. I tried to use my Discover charge card but the young gal forgot to say they don’t accept Discover there. I didn’t see a sign or any type of posting there either. We would definitely return if in the area.

Great ice cream! As great as what you hope for in a place like this. They make their waffle cones, and you can smell them when you walk in. Place gets crowded so be prepared to wait, but it's worth it. Try the "Door County Cherry", it's very very good. I got it in a waffle cone with some chocolate, and didn't stop smiling till I was done.
