$14.95 I think for a huge, delicious, Prime rib sandwich. No need for a side

The rooms were a little dated, but clean and comfortable.
When we arrived, there was a sign a the registration desk directing us to the bar to check in. For the first time ever, we ordered a beer before checking in. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the first one was on the house as guests. We had a good time talking beer with the bartender.
We came down for a light dinner and a couple more beers. The appetizers we had were very good.
Breakfast was mostly pastries, cereal, bagels, etc. There wasn't any protein to be found, but a pleasant surprise was the amount of fresh fruit available.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights with our dog in July of 2019 on our visit to Door County. We specifically picked this location because it is pet-friendly, and we greatly appreciate that (though they do charge you $15/night extra for pets).

I can't say we had a great time here, but it was serviceable. The staff (when you could find them) was friendly and accommodating, but the place itself seemed a bit run down. The room was clean but antiquated, with a VERY loud air conditioner. There was a also a very annoying rattling sound coming from somewhere that usually ended after we went to bed, so we think it might have been noises from the kitchen below us. The bed was VERY uncomfortable, and we did not enjoy a good night's sleep (and usually we tolerate hotel beds just fine). The hallways outside the room were VERY hot, so at least the air did work good inside the room (aside from the noise).

The adjoining restaurant was highly recommended on Google, but we didn't have a great time there either. They did accommodate our dog by seating us outside on the back patio, which was nice. However, our waitress on Friday evening (July 5, 2019) was not at all attentive and lacked a good understanding of the menu. She didn't even tell us where the salad bar was or when to get it. We did not get drink refills as expected, and she admitted she was new (which we understand, but then you have someone help you). We ordered the Chicken Drummies and the Pecan Whitefish, both of which we thought tasted very bland, lacking flavor. They both looked very nice on the plate, but the taste did not match the looks.

I think if we stayed in Sturgeon Bay again, we would look for something else. The place does have a bit of charm, but charm does not always equate to comfort and convenience.

Our table had a variety of dishes from fish to steak. Food quality and flavor were very good. Our waitress was willing and tried hard but could use some training. Good place
