Decent Vietnamese pho if you live on the east side and don't want to trek down to Pho Cali or Pho Viet on the south side. If I was to compare Pho 43 to those other two places listed above, it's not as good. Broth was saltier and portions are smaller. Service was very good, very clean.
Best crispy noodles! When they first opened I was coming here a couple times a week. Moved out of the east side but make it a point to stop in every time I'm in the area.
I usually get the chicken or combo fried rice here, both of which I like. I admit the pork is fatty in the fried rice, both the combo and the straight pork ones, which means I often eat around those pieces or trim them. The pho broth is tasty, and reheats well since we always get more then the noodles require.
I usually eat here at least once a month.
I stopped for lunch and ordered the #17 which should have steak, brisket, meatballs, and tripe. It came out fast and was delicious but it came out with cilantro instead of basil. When I asked if they had basil the server brought a small bowl and asked if it was okay and explained that they were almost out. As I ate I found that there was no tripe. I didn't ask about it. The service was extremely friendly and the dining room is comfortable. I will go again but next time I'll make sure they know that I want tripe when I order.
This place is so cute, this is a perfect date night spot. The ambiance and the decor is great. It's also great for large groups. We loved the menu and although I was not hungry the pho was the number rave from everyone I was with.
