Went to Smoke Shack for the first time yesterday, a little wary because of some negative comments. My family and I were absolutely delighted! Everything we had was so delicious. We started with the burnt ends appetizer - very tasty brisket in small, falling apart chunks and they gave us a chance to try all the different sauces on the table, which was really fun. Then we shared a combo platter. Everything on it was amazing. The chicken, the two kinds of ribs, pulled pork and more brisket - all were super tender and moist. They didn't need sauce, but since so many yummy sauces were available...well...! The corn bread, coleslaw, and roasted brussel sprouts were also excellent - I could have filled up on just those if I were a vegetarian. There is a great selection of cocktails and the ones we tried were fantastic. Service was excellent, too. Really, it's so close to where we live, this place may become our Cheers!
Tried this place since we always miss the one in downtown and it was worth trying. They were also on my drinking app so well worth it. Food was flavorful and great
Wow. What can one day about the coolest and tastiest BBQ in Milwaukee! You simply can't go wrong here. The burnt ends are awesome if you can ever get her in time to get some. The brisket and baby back ribs are perfect with great choices of BBQ sauce! An absolute must try!
I have no complaints about the staff or the facilities. Everything was nice and everyone was more than kind. I was just really let down by food. Everything felt like it was pulled out of a warmish chaffing dish and lightly seasoned. At least for the pork and the brisket, I can't speak for the rest of the menu. I also can't say that they served Mac and cheese but they do serve buttered noodles with some peppercorn and cheese shaved on top. And finally, I know that they use quality ingredients, but their drink menu is too expensive. Will I come back or recommend the place, probably. Will I revisit my review at that time, absolutely. But as I write this, I feel like me and my wallet would have been better off with grocery store hot bar equivalent.
This review is actually for the downtown location on N Milwaukee St
When in the mood for Southern BBQ hits, we go to Smoke Shack and are never disappointed. We had the spare ribs this time around and had a great time devouring them. They were outstanding. We enjoy everything about this place from food and drinks, atmosphere and great southern blues music. Last but not least wonderful, friendly service.
