    Convenient and cozy place to stop for sandwiches, salads, or soups on the way into the Northwoods. The bathrooms are clean, well-stocked and welcoming, not a small consideration on a road trip.

    I had a chicken salad croissant sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the flaky and buttery pastry that even a Parisian would recognize as a proper croissant. The chicken salad was moist and flavorful, if a bit plain.

    My companions are unable to eat gluten and found only one item on the menu: vegetable soup. They had no complaints about the soup, but it wasn't enough of a meal.

    Stop in on our way through on a bus trip for a quick lunch. The soup of the day was Pilgrim's Corn Chowder which was perfect on the cold raining day. Cute little shop!

    Homespun is my favorite shop in Phillips. Such a cozy atmosphere. Great coffee and soup.
