Old Southern BBQ Hayward - TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Visiting Hayward for the weekend and stopped at this restaurant for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the meat was and their cornbread muffin tops were great. Highly recommend and plan on visiting again whenever I return to Hayward.

I have to say the staff here are amazing. Today my dogs got away from us and we had to run off to get them back. Upon returning Rocky and the other staff members gave us hot food at not charge since it took us a little bit to run the fur babies down to catch them. They also provided us with plastic bowls to put water in for the fur babies since they had quite a run. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. The food was also very amazing. So big huge thank you and keep up the good work. Its kindness like this that will always make me come back when passing thru town.

And then there was smoked meat... Delicious, the brisket is the best. But really everything was good and moist. The beans everyone raved about. I loved the cream corn. You should go there and eat smoked meat, try some sides your won't regret it.

This week, I placed an order for my family reunion in Wisconsin. There were 30 of us at a near by cabin, some were gluten free and some were dairy free. This restaurant served all of us so well! I ordered the BBQ sandwiches off the catering menu for 30 people and we had so much chicken left overs, we ate it again the next night. The sides were a huge hit with my little family members, they ate up the mac+cheese and mashed potatoes. Our customer service was incredible. They were polite, generous and timely. When my husband and I went to pick up the food, they apologized for running behind on our cobblers and served a platter of sides and ribs to my husband and I while we waited. It was the best plate of ribs I've ever tasted, and it definitely made up for the wait! I went back to the same store the next day with my brother and his wife to eat lunch and enjoy it all over again. Can't say enough good things :)
