Fantastic wood-fired oven meatball pizza and mouthwatering Italian beef sandwiches in a cute, casual atmosphere. Many other tables ordered salads, which I'll have to add as a side next time. The Italian beef is not one of those Chicago-style ridiculously big beefs - it's a more reasonable size but still filling and ridiculously good with giardinara. We will be back!

We are ALWAYS on the hunt for new pizza places. Bella Gusto in Oconomowoc was recommended to me to try out so we decided to give it a shot. I gave them a ring to find out if they reserve tables. They told me they don’t hold tables but had a few spots to sit and eat. We showed up with some friends, 4 of us total, and there were open tables to choose from. The ordering process is a little different from your typical restaurant. You grab a menu and pick out what you want eat, grab yourself something to drink from some coolers (there’s a good selection of sodas, beers, and they did have a wine list) and head to the checkout counter. There you place your order, and pay, then grab an open spot to sit. Staff was friendly and I liked the decor and layout of the building. The appetizers came out quick, pizza come out hot and ready to eat. Pizza had good flavor and a thinner crust that had good texture, lots of cheese. I do love cheese but it does make it a little more greasy. Overall it was a good experience and good pizza. Worth the stop to get some pizza. They also do carry out, as many customers came and went pizza in hand while we were there.

FYI: Amidst my search for info, I discovered that the owner/operators of Bella Gusto are more recognizable than you might think. In that regards after a little research I found that owner/executive chef Matt Nobile was a recognized talent as "the man behind the man" for several Food Network stars and until opening Bella Gusto spent his career building, and operating some of the culinary industries highest ranked restaurants and wine bars. That said, I feel we are fortunate to have professionals of such caliber open a dining establishment that is clearly meant to be enjoyed by all, rather than more of the same!

Charming atmosphere. The owners are so welcoming and friendly. I was delighted to see that their market carries pastas and other Italian items that are hard-to-find. I attended a wine tasting event and sampled their pizzas which were amazing. I would definitely recommend Bella Gusto.
