The Lookout Restaurant at Gray Monk

My friends and I went here for the ol' bday, after doing a winery crawl basically. I love Gray Monk wine so we made sure to come here last since we knew we would be purchasing a bunch of wine from here. We were heading back so we stopped in for a pretty late lunch, which we needed from all the wine! The food was pretty tasty, we started off with the woodland mushroom dish, which I also got for my main because I enjoyed it so much. They other folks at the table a.k.a my friends got some tasty dishes also but to be honest I don't know what they ate...But I do know it was a good time! Moving on... to the service, because that's really why I'm(we're) here.

So from the moment we got to the door we were greeted by a really nice hostess (we didn't get her name & couldn't find her after to ask/thank her), but she was so lovely. And our server Julie was amazing! By far the best service we had received on our wine crawl! She gave me some sparkling wine for my bday and the little host from earlier ran over to wish me a happy birthday and we all just died! Julie was so nice, funny and attentive... She loves long walks on the beach & cats lol. But seriously we loved that she joined in on the mindless conversations we were having, and she definitely went above and beyond for us and it made my birthday and our experience even better! Honestly she could have pulled up a chair and been apart of the crew!

In conclusion...

'I' as in WE would now come back for the service alone but the wine is at a close close 2nd lol.

View is wow! Service is great! Food was good but when it was the Grapevine the food was better. It could be what we ordered.

I recently went for a late lunch at this beautiful restaurant. I was with a couple other people and with all the unique dishes available, we decided to order a couple selections from the menu for us all to try, family style. Everything we had was amazing and delicious with an excellent flavour pairing. We had appetizers, woodland mushroom dish and the Okanagan greens both of which were delicious! For mains we tried the duck confit, the abbey bowl and the pork belly. They all tasted so good but I think the pork belly was my personal favourite being so tender and full of flavour. The Abbey bowl is vegetarian dish with the best tofu (no usually a tofu fan) I have ever tasted but you don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy this dish. The duck was fall off the bone and scrumptious. We finished the meal with a chocolate ganache bar, something you must try, yum! Staff was knowledgeable, attentive and professional. With such wonderful food, great service and a beautiful view/location, what more can you ask for!
