We fished with Jeff mid July of 2023. We contacted him a day and a half before with low hopes for a short notice drift down the Elk River. To our delight he contacted me in short order to tell us “he’s working on it”! He was waiting for his guides to get off the water to see how he could possibly fit us in and said he’d call us around 7. Right at 7 indeed, he called to tell us we’re on! He ended up taking the float himself and so happy he did! He was an absolute pro at showing up where the cut throut were and taught us more than any other guide we’ve gone with before!! He was fun, courteous, patient and FULL of tips and info that can generally be difficult to pry outta guides…and did I mention fun?! Yep, we had a lot of fun with Jeff with his great sense of humor and his passion for fly fishing these waters is evident in all our experience with him that day. A fantastic day in a majestic, beautiful, crystal clear river…OMG!! As for the negative reviews I’ve read?? I don’t get it…not at all…seems one issue has been going around but should not at all reflect on this business! Go with him, you won’t be dissappointed!

Curtis took us out on Aug 9 down the Elk, it was an awesome experience and our guide was fantastic. Not sure how many fish we got in the net, but it was in the 40 each range for my wife and I. Plus the smoked salmon bagel was delicious for lunch. Thanks Curtis, you were awesome!!!

My buddy and I have fished all over North America for the last 45 years. Jeff is one of the very best guides we have ever had. He is very professional, has an intimate knowledge of his rivers and their moods, puts you into fish, and is a wonderful person to share a boat with... I find it very hard to recognize Jeff in any of the negative reviews. When we had to cancel a trip at the last moment because of family issues, there was no charge and no questions asked. He’s the best....

I took my sister-in-law on a fly fishing trip to B.C. Canada for a girls’ weekend getaway. We ended up booking with Jeff at Home Waters and couldn’t have been happier with our choice! The entire getaway was phenomenal, but the fishing trip was definitely the highlight. Jeff was an incredible guide with a plethora of knowledge—not to mention he kept us laughing all day long. I have never had such an action packed day of fishing before, and the cutthroat trout in this area are absolutely stunning! I even caught my very first bull trout! The Elk River does not disappoint! What more could you ask for? The fish were numerous, the scenery was breathtaking, the laughs were abundant—it was truly one of those days that you wished would never end. But it did. And now we are left dreaming about going back.
If you are looking for a fly fishing trip of a lifetime then I would definitely recommend a trip to Fernie B.C. with Jeff at Home Waters as your guide. Money well spent.
Thank you Jeff for putting up with us two crazy girls from Great Falls, Montana!

Been fishing with Jeff and the guys for over 10 years. These guys know where to find the fish, what they are hitting and how to have a good time while fishing true trophy trout waters. I have had epic days on the Elk, Wigwam and St. Mary rivers with these guys. This kind of fishing most people only dream about!!
