On Guard FC Academy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

We struggled to find a sport my son enjoys until we were introduced to Matt at On Guard. Now every week my son looks forward to getting on the mat. He is actually bummed when he may have to miss a class.
Matt is patient and kind with the kids. He helps them to feel confident and comfortable in what they are doing.

Matt is a highly skilled competitor and at the same time an excellent teacher; a quality which is very hard to find. The gym is clean with lots of amenities. The gym has a respectful and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend it to everyone.

Some of the best instruction you can get in all of BC, from an instructor with a wealth of competition experience. What makes Matt special is not only his in depth understanding of jiu jitsu and grappling in general, but his ability to articulate that understanding in his teaching. The gym has a welcoming and friendly vibe that is perfect for the absolute beginner or seasoned jiu jitsu player. 10/10 would recommend.

Professor Matt Kwan is one of the most knowledgable instructors I have come across during my almost 12 years in Jiu Jitsu. His attention to detail and ability to help students absorb those details is impressive. I highly recommend him to anyone at any experience level.
