Our hot water heater went suddenly on a Friday night as they often do. Chris from Roto Rooter came with new heater in tow. Tight squeeze at our place but he moved things around with no problem, set up the new heater, suggested another small fixture for small hot water needs and installed it in no time. Very happy and impressed.

This was for a newly purchased property in Port Alberni: Communication between the bid and the field is lacking ... part of the job was to cover the existing exposed sewer line which would need materials and equipment to be delivered and placed so the $950 estimate for that seemed reasonable but more than a week after the rest of the job was complete, it still looked like the before photo below. As there was now equipment and traffic in the way, I phoned and suggested to just take that portion off the bill as I could finish it myself later ... I did have a conversation with 'the boss' while I was driving and suggested to take off whatever he thought was fair so I could settle up. Sometime later I see that my visa had been charged $500 of the $950 ... we did communicate after that but 'cost of doing business' is the best he could stammer out. What they did was good, but I won't be using them again, perhaps use this as a cautionary tale ... and expect a 3% surcharge for using your visa card ... never heard of such a thing before. BTW the after photo is gravel supported pipe, heavy cloth felt and dirt on top ... just seeded it this evening.

Determined location of waterline leak under the house, hand excavated and installed a new waterline under the footing/foundation and up through the concrete floor, relocated the pressure and shutoff valves and patched the concrete floor. All work was performed professionally and tidy. Only concern is the hourly labour rate is just too high for the expertise required

I am extremely pleased to recommend Roto-Rooter, they handled my issues promptly and courteously. Davies the plumber who attended my needs,. went over and above to make sure my concerns were addressed and the issue fixed and was able to recommend additional installation to make my outdoor faucets more efficient. I would not hesitate to use them for any future issues I may encounter.

Rob was extremely helpful. He had good ideas and solutions for our situation that we wouldn't have thought about. He made further inquiries that might be useful for our future plans.
Very professional. Good sense of humor.
