  It was a pleasant trip and so much information to learn. It has several parts and you need to have comfortable footwear as there will be lots of walking. Feast for the eyes.

  This Laking Garden is kind of hidden away and easily missed. I purchased a ticket at the Royal Botanical Garden, which gave me access to the Laking Garden, Rock Garden, Hendrick Garden and this Arboretum. All 4 gardens/parks are dogfriendly. My 2 little dogs and I explored all 4 in one day includes taking a lunch break in between. The Laking Garden is located between the Hendrick Garden and Rock Garden. The parking lot is not as big as the other gardens, and after parking, you'll need to walk down this walkway crossing the railroad below with a view of Lake Ontario in a distance. At the end of the walkway, there is a parking lot on the left which is for handicap or tour bus parking. Walk across the small road and the Laking Garden is on your left. I was greeted by huge colorful flowers once I cross the road, and the flowers were along the entrance of the garden. So beautiful and big. This garden is wheelchair friendly up a point. After entering the garden, there is a picnic pavilion where people with wheelchair can sit and enjoy the view. The garden is wheelchair accessible until you reach the steps which lead to the garden of flowers. Below the steps, it is mostly grass, and if you walk to the left away from the flowers, there is a beautiful view of Lake Ontario. I went in May and the perennials were in full bloom. Lucky me! It was so beautiful.

  The Laking Gardens are nice to visit, but they are clearly have the Iris and Peonies display as their main attraction. For this reason its not worth paying to get access to just he Laking Gardens outside of springtime. You could visit on the same day as the main gardens, although I would recommend that this come after the main gardens and the Rock Gardens if you are visiting outside of spring.

  Such a beautiful and expansive place to go. Very affordable with an annual couple pass with two parking passes, and two guest passes for just $120! We come down from Guelph for day hikes.
